Today Paul helped James pick up walnuts for thirteen cents a pound. I helped a little. I sewed Jeremiah's bib overalls' suspender straps -- they were lengthened because he is growing, that is a good thing.
The Philips kids were at Grandma and Grandpa Tobies Thursday and Friday because Esther was in Hospital.
Esther is very sick with multiple kidney stones. She had one taken out and has 5 more awaiting exit in her kidney. A lot of pain. I promised Leah Grace, Esther's daughter, I'd come again on Monday at 2:00 and we'd paint. Leah really likes all the colors, that is, Leah Grace. I'll have to call "big" (or Grandma) Leah and tell her I promised Leah Grace I'd (or we'd) be down Monday.
I gave Esther a couple of compositions of blue flowers. Leah Grace did the dippy dots. that is the centers of the flowers, she painted them with the tip of the handle on the paintbrush. I also gave them a card for Philip from Paul and I.
Leah was (Grandma) gone today doing religious duty of picking bishop and having communion.
Tomorrow is Philip's birthday. She called 3 x this a.m. and invited us over to help James.
Sarah was cleaning, Saturday cleaning.
My birthday is about 4 days after James' birthday, in November. His is 11/19 and mine is 11/24.

Oil change
Wow, what a day. One day older and a lot deeper in debt. We went to the oil change place (with van) and it turns out we need rack and pinion done as well as leaky oil pan and brake fluid. We got about 200.00 worth of repairs done today. Could not afford the rack and pinion thing yet--that's another 800.00. I was going to take Leah around in the van this Thursday, good thing they found this before I did.
Guess I'll take the Malibu to Mendon and Three Rivers on Thursday.
I also had physical therapy. Am going to get (or try to) out of my contract with A.F. gym because my physical therapist doesn't want me overdoing it.
I helped Leah with her laundry yesterday and woke up with swollen, stiff knees, could hardly walk. So I scheduled physical therapy for today and got the stiffness out with 10 minutes on the bike. No weights for me today.
We went grocery shopping early today, I forgot tuna, so I got 9 cans of it after painting class. I'll post my paintings, 19 of them, later.

After KVCC
I dropped all my classes at KVCC and concentrated on cleaning. We have been termed a health risk here in our apartment due to clutter. We are fighting over space. Paul cleaned it and cleared stuff out and I brought out a rolling cart from the bedroom to the living room. I wanted to put my art stuff on it. Paul said "no". I may concede by the end of the week. I got two off-site storage cubicles for our stuff, one for Paul, 5 x 10', and one for me, 5 x 5. I put all my books and art stuff in the 5 x 5 climate controlled. There is right now stuff in van to go to storage unit.
The Malibu has about 1/4 tank gas. The van does also. Jill is coming down to TR and then up to stop by tomorrow.
If we don't pass inspection Wednesday the 17th our butts are out of here.

Monday a.m. 2:22
This weekend was not that awful bad. I'm supposed to take my car into dealer to have it bought back Mon. 10:00 a.m. today. It is now 2:23 am.
I bought the car as a present for Paul. Impressive. He was impressed. I was impressed. Then I was pressed. High payments. Sacrifices. I'm going to try to get out of this payment which would free up more than 300/mo in our budget, insurance and pmt-wise.
The dogs have fleas and Skippy whines part of the night and wakes us up.
Then he wanted to go out 2 x tonite, we accommodated, but it is not good. Fed the cats, that is part of the reason I am up, hungry cats. (3). They have fleas too, but sleep thru them.
I went into Gen'l Dollar yesterday afternoon, --looked for flea collars and couldn't find any. Will have to check at Wally world or Meijer.
Paul and I went to Flea Mkt yesterday. Joe asked me if I am coming back. It's still not that upbeat of a venue. Dawn was not there. Jim was busy, as always. Said Hi.
Chris returned a couple of dolls she could not sell to us.

Sturgis with Sarah and Stephen
Saturday, September 27, 2014
Drove Sarah this morning. To Sturgis and back. From Portage that's about 50 miles. I enjoyed it.
Stephen came along. Paul baled or actually put away bales of hay up in the barn with Toby and James while I drove Sarah and Stephen.
We had a nice breakfast first, of eggs, sausage, cheese casserole and cornbread of sorts, and toast, jam (home made grape), tomatoes (very ripe and red, from garden that day), and milk (unpasturized).
I took Sarah and Steve to Walmart in Sturgis. She bought school supplies. Sarah is teaching this semester. She sure was up early for all her hard work all week. She called me at around 7:30 a.m. & it gave me about 45 or so minutes to arrive at her door, from Portage to Mendon.
Paul and I took the van, not the Malibu. We actually plan on selling the Malibu. It is too expensive for us at this point, and we are repenting of the co-signing of a loan. It is 277/month. On top of 256/month for van and 260.00 a month for insurance.
Anyway we had planned on taking the Malibu to Cole dealership to sell back for payoff, but Sarah called instead.
So I made 17.00 driving over 50 miles, and free great breakfast, picked up 4 items for myself at Dollar store: Batteries (8 AA for 1.00, good deal if fresh), Palmolive dish detergent, toothbrushes, 2 boxes ibuprofen.
We got back, Paul and I, to Portage, 1:10 p.m. and the dogs were whining, especially Skippy.
Skippy has a high pitched whine that about breaks your ear drums.
I fed the dogs, fed Paul a sandwich, rested a bit for 20 minutes, and here I am on computer. need to take dogs for a walk, it is beautiful out.

Summer is nearly over. I think of the scripture Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no help for the hurt of the daughter of my people? (Hosea? ) check me on that. It goes on to say "Summer is over and harvest is come and still we are not saved". whoo boy that is convicting.
There was a 6.2 magnitude earthquake in N. CA today, 70 people hurt, no one killed (yet).
Regarding the market as far as me selling my art, I am no where right now. I pulled out of the Flea Market in late April, early May. Did the Farmer's Market 3 x this summer, first Thursday of each month.
Now
I am looking at doing Schoolcraft. Takes 100.00 up front and
50.00/month. I am also trying to register for school, need to send for
my U-M and Davenport transcripts. This coming week is registation
downtown.
Need glasses, Rx is 59.00, then need to get frames and lenses.

Mother's Day weekend
My sister Jill came by this weekend. She is doing badly. She is at a fork in the road right now, and I hope she does well.
She told me to make original greeting cards, thank-yous, set of 10 and she'd pay me 10.00 for them.
If I was going to make 10 original greeting cards with envelopes, I'd sell them for 2.50 each. Mom's day cards were going for 5.99 @ at Meijers this weekend. So I bought a congrats 1.00 card and scrawled Happy Mother's Day on it, sent to Amber, Lydia, Jill and Meg.
I adopted a kitten, Socks, and he's doing well in the bathroom right now, safe from the dogs. Paul is making a couple of things.
Socks is crying now, I might let him out.
I have to watch Hezzy around Socks, who is pretty little still. Boy kitty.
Hezzy thinks he's a rat or something.
Mother's day was quiet. I went home at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, it was so boring. I wanted to play with Socks.

Easter weekend
The U.S. 131 Flea Market will be open Easter Sunday, 2014!
I was told if I'm going to be late coming down Easter Sunday, to bring a ham with me.
Since I AM a ham, I have the ham with me.
I put a bunch of penwork on FB and Google+ this morning that I scanned in 3:00 a.m.
I had done some work that had not been scanned in yet, while my scanning system was down when I swapped out towers. We added a Dell printer/scanner which feeds through the computer tower to the Brother printer. Don't ask me how, all I know is it WORKS and the tower, which is 10 years old and I bought for 20.00 from the flea market from Randy Yeoman down there, did not recognize the brother printer as the tower was too old.
Was soooo glad to get scanning to work. Thanks to Chrissy at the flea who gave us the Dell printer for free.
Free stuff: Last weekend we got a screw taken out of our tire and patched for free at Discount tire. Also got our printer heads cleaned and correct default settings recalibrated (was printing 4 x 6). Need blue ink cartridge in Brother Printer. They told me at Rapid Refill, who cleaned the printheads for free (I bought printer there for 130.00), not to use blue background or it sucks blue ink out of printer.
They did me some nice copies off the Canon printer, 4 for free.
This is composition from Donna Dewberry teaching aid which I did on different colored cardstocks. Cream above and purple or blue below. This sucked the life out of my printer cuz of bright colors.

Skippy the doggy
He must be feeling better, is chasing the cat. Was lying by door, against it. Now cat is rubbing against my elbow now. Ocelot. He acts (Ocelot) as if he's missed me today.
Skippy has had ear infections on and off for some time. We can put Gentamycin in his ears, prescribed by the Vet, but Hezzy is practically impossible to dose when she has infections, she snaps at us.
Skippy is a lot more placid and trusting.

staying put and happy bout it
Well, Thank-You, Jesus, we are not going to have to get rid of our cats OR our dogs, and not have to pay a bundle to keep them. We are staying where we are. Praise God, Glory!
What happened was it got close to moving time, about a week ago or so, and our van sprung a leak in the coolant department. anyway so that was 465 for repair & new pump.
So I called LW our manager here at the apt complex and told her that it'd be a little bit longer for us to move (she had already told me earlier that she was not going to charge me extra to stay if I needed a month or two longer). I told her that car repair ate up sec'y deposit, and we'd need a little time to raise the money again.
She was sympathetic and helpful. She said "where are you going that the sec'y deposit is 600?!!!" I told her and she said "The only reason I wanted you to move was because I thought Paul was unhappy". To which I replied "Let me handle Paul". So I asked her, could we sign another lease? She said she was thinking about it, and then she said "yes" and sent us the lease, which we signed.
I am a lot more grateful for this place, in retrospect, than I used to be.
We visited LH and TH today, but TH was asleep, Paul said he really seemed tired out, never saw him sleep like that (during day) before.
LH is truly busy and she will call me when she gets time to see me.
We have 2 dinners at church tomorrow, a lunch at 12:30 (chili) Prayer lunch, and 4:00 p.m. dinner for memorial service.
