Keeping the pets at move G Ave

I am trusting God to help us keep the 2 dogs at move.  We have found an apt. up on G Ave N. of Kalamazoo.  My sister Meg was going to help us on condition we got rid of dogs.  I told her that Paul said she could go f___  herself, we were not getting rid of our dogs, she could get rid of her own dog.  She did not take too kindly to my boundary setting.  She totally ignored my birthday, but she never answers the phone anyway.

We found a really nice 1 bedroom for 634/mo heat included, that will take our 2 dogs, so +50.00 it will be 684.  If I go to a subsidized place it will be around 600/mo. anyway.  They did run the background check and accepted us.

We could have our payee write a monthly check for like 550 and we could write a check for 130 more.  The only thing is how will I tithe?

I cut off my smart phone.  Trying to save about 45.00/mo.

I really want to take the cats too, but it's 50/mo. extra and I cannot afford that.

We're going to a landlord meeting next Wed. night.  We did not go last night because I decided too close to holiday, we will go next week.  Today is Thanksgiving.  We had meatballs and spaghetti.  A neighbor brought us a plate of Thanksgiving food which Paul ate just as I was making him a hamburger tonight.

So far I am keeping my DSL.  ATT bundled my DSL with the phone for 23.00 for six months. Our lease is actually up March 31st.  We need to move around February so we have time to move it all.

This apt. complex is peyton place.  Paul keeps seeing the landlady go into the woods.  He always thinks she wants him. He said he was walking by and she blinked her bathroom light on and off.  He thinks her boyfriend, Lou, is done with Lori W.

There were 4 women going off into the woods with their dogs:  Lori, Cathy Dodge ODell, Sandy, and Julie. What a bunch!!!  I can only hope their aim is to gossip but I'm afraid they are up to worse than that. Cathy D. O. is a real pain in the bazoo, she sold me  a van once that didn't move and I had to give it away, I lost over 500.00 on that deal, + 150.00 for towing costs.  Not to mention face, time, and mental harrassment.
In my opinion, Cathy is a criminal, her kids are in jail. She is hanging with Lori?  Terrible news. Oh well, God is greater.  BTW all those women profess to know Christ.

Johnny 'cross the street homeowner

Well, our Landlady L.W. called 8:00 a.m. day before yesterday and said "Tell Paul, if he calls the cops one more time, I'll evict you".  Really.  I said okay and hung up.

Today Johnny across the street, the homeowner who beat a dog that came on his property and who harassed Paul for the looks of his truck not on his property, got a Sheriff's car in his driveway.  Johnny probably got a restraining order from the apt. complex, but we're not sure.

I'm done with the flea mkt for a while.  I'm done with Farmer's market for a winter.

No flea market outside Bank St. Mkt., though there is a farmer's mkt.  Thursday at Bank St. Mkt until November.

My sister Meg suggested I take a little R&R for a month, so I am in October.  Next month is my birthday. Maybe God'll give us a house for my birthday.  We are getting prequalified right now.

We did Harvest Fest Vicksburg Sunday, was good.

Out out out of Gldntr

Got a call at 8:00 a.m. yesterday, was Lori W., the landlady saying "If Paul calls the cops one more time, you're evicted".  Hmmmm.  I said Okay and hung up. Told Paul.  He is perseverating on the problem. I am looking for solutions, i.e., where to go next.  Friend says it takes 3 months for them to evict you, so that gives us time to look.  Who will take us with our 2 dogs and 2 cats?

Matter for prayer.  I don't care who said what, I just want to get OUT.

Van, Shipshe

Went to Shipshe with Leah, Toby, Dale, Micah, Nathan and Marianna in Van down Shimmel road going down, 8:00-8:30 p.m. Friday night. Was very comfortable, but Dale was crying all the way down, so I played Chris Rice Piano music of hymns.

We came back midnight.

We were safe, saw 2 deer.

Paul stayed at farm with James, did milking and got egg sandwich.

N. next door issues

P. keeps saying that next door gal is different now.  I think she's showing her true colors.  He thinks she's high on weed.  It's partially my fault that she is coming out in full bloom (by that, I mean showing her jugs as she sits on front step) now because I made a comment to P. that he shouldn't tell me that N. "looks good".  Well, I did get mad.  I'm not subtle.  Every time I send P. out with the garbage, he takes 20 minutes, goes and talks to J. and Cat, (chatty cathy).  There are 2 cathy's over there.  Then P. takes walks and doesn't take dogs out, comes home tired, and dogs poop on floor.  Not good.  That happened once.

I feel I got pressured into the deal on the van because they wanted my car in trade, a running car I owed no money on.  Now I owe 11% on 10,000.00 and I'm bummed because I didn't keep my promise to myself to think about the deal for 3 days, like I was going to.  They (Chrys. dealer) made me come back and sign back of title.  What if I had balked?  I did though, and it took extra gas to go out there and back.  I need to be grateful and not so complaining.  I'm really glad we got the van.  I didn't have a lot of stuff to negotiate with, i.e., cash and trade-in, so we got the van with just the trade in and no payment until Oct. which means we have one cycle with which to squirrel wisely.

I tried to get P. to focus and get a spending plan, but he just won't focus, he concentrates on the TV or on the animals, gets silly when I try to ask what do you want to do tomorrow.

I guess I need to pray more.  He's ADHD, I think, can't focus on a goal. He came home with a free saddle today and wanted to put it in the van.  I said no. Now we've got a saddle in our apt. I told him to stick it in his truck.  He says he's not going to talk to Jean again because she wants him to get rid of his truck, no business of hers.

Flea market again

Went down to the flea market again to sell my creations.  Left a lot of my stuff there for next week.

It was relaxing.  Sold nothing.  Just is relaxing to be indoors again and to rest in my mind, have a little 4' x 8' studio with my stuff.  I am paying 100/month to be there.  Jim, the owner,  is really nice and is glad to have me back.  One of the self-made managers is leaving soon for greener pastures.  I doubt it really that this person will leave.

I plan to be there until Christmas, at least, and maybe a regular.

New Van, insomnia, art presentation

We bought a new Chrysler Town Country van, greyish-teal, 2006, it's a beauty.  Very, very clean.  Spotless. Well taken-care of.  69,000 miles.  Runs quiet!  Good tires, new brakes.  Had good maintenance, was leased then bought by an older couple who traded it in.  (not a repo).

Well my insomnia is as bad as ever even on Risperdal 0.25 mg added.

Our presentation of artwork is low-quality, and I can't seem to motivate Paul to make better presentation for me.

We left the farmer's market early, I was sick from heat and Paul had headache.  We went down early.  It was boring and nobody even stopped to look at my stuff, hardly.  Maybe passed out 3-4 business cards.

Many pages, Aug. 16, 2013

Wow, I have 727 pages in my blog or page views if I read that right. It is Friday and we went to LH an Tobies in Mendon.  I am supposed to go to an art gallery tomorrow but I'm frankly, chicken.  I may send her JPEGs of artwork via email first.  I have to get my brakes fixed.  I need to get photocopies, I spent 15.00 on scans on my flash drive at Office Max, and bought one reduced size photocopy, color, for framing. (Love Keeps No Record of Wrongs).

Paul is working on a bicycle wheel. He just took a shower.  He helped milk 20 or so cows on my friend's Amish farm.  I brought stew with me so we could play with paint, but we did not play at all.  LH kept working, and canned tomatoes. I do admire her for being so industrious.  Her one son is on a bus tour with his young new wife out West for 3 weeks.  Her other son is getting married this fall.  It's grand central station there at dinner time.  John from GR came down from MFB who I know from a former job, who is friend of the family through NY who broke his neck and is doing very well now, father of 3 (3rd is  bun in the oven).

Aaron is getting married Sept. 21st, bun in the oven also, Dec. 2nd is the due date, with Amber.

I haven't heard from siblings in a long time.

Had an opportunity to go to a picnic yesterday but Paul wanted to stay home.

Time for ice cream (Moose tracks yogurt) and then to bed.  Had a good day.  Yesterday was hard because a doctor asked a lot of nosy background questions and I was too glad to get out of there.

One week later Tuesday Farm Mkt.

Wow, where does the time go?   We went to Bank St. Flea mkt. last week, participated as vendors for 3 hours, paid and left a little early.  No sales.  Couple of nice compliments and some advice to participate on Sat. Bank St.Mkt. Kalamazoo, MI.  SO we returned Sat. a.m. 9:10 a.m. and we could not park for the press of people there.  I drove away disappointed.

News:  Big train crash in Spain last week, 20+ people killed.  Van w pregnant Youth Group Pastor's wife crashed, wife and youth pastor killed, that's 3 people, + one more, press only counted 3 people, but if you count the baby, that's 4 people killed.

2 weeks ago there was a double murder/suicide by the Miller Rd. Post Office.  This week there was a med student shot with one shot in a pool of blood in Fraternity House in Ann Arbor, MI and this person was a nephew of one of our missionaries at church, Larry Yarger, and a relative, distantly, of our pastor's wife who is cousins to Larry Yarger, I think it's cousins.   BTW Larry is in critical condition with dengue fever and we prayed for him.

There was a "customer" if I may call him that, named Jonathan, who came to my booth 3 x for information on pen and ink supplies, techniques, etc.  I sent him to JNB John Neal Bookseller.  Larry Michael, my next door neighbor vendor asked me to write down a few exercises I use for pen and ink, and I did write 3 down for him.  Jonathan came back 2nd time with sketchbook and 3rd time with a peach to give me.  I'm glad I had Paul as an escort.

Paul keeps saying Nancy is going to get evicted, but his information is spotty at best, fueled with an active imagination.

nancy next door

Today at around 12:00 noon, Nancy next door was opposing Paul and I leaving for Three Rivers, because the pest lady (Rose) was supposed to be here to spray.  I told her we paid for our space and we were going. Furthermore I told her we didn't have bedbugs, she said "yes you do" which all the way to Three Rivers Paul & I discussed how did she know having never been in our house?  Anyway, so Chad the maintenance guy came over at 5:00 p.m. and we put the pups in the car for a few minutes (I stayed with them and put the air conditioner on) and Chad checked our mattress for bedbugs and agreed with us we do not have them.  We do have roaches.  So Paul is just to keep spraying as he has been and we have bait traps out.  Nancy will have to keep her mouth shut to us.  Nancy has bedbugs because of who she shares her bed with.  She takes in homeless people.  Rhonda also opposed us leaving, but I looked at them and they shut up, they couldn't say anything to me.

Lydia's wedding

We made it to Lydia's wedding without a hitch, made it back home no prezzies from dogs, Praise God!  Lydia looked exquisite in her gown with one strap across shoulder.

Friday, June 21, 2013

Well I got to Mendon about 8:50 a.m. passed Leah on street she was going opposite way to Chupp, I was on Spring Creek.  She was getting cherries.  Toby got on bike and followed her, I stayed in driveway in my car and prayed.

we went down to Orpha's about 9:45 - 10:00 ish.  Sarah didn't come, is helping Esther her sister with new 5 day old baby Rosellen.

We went to Sturgis and went to Mexican Market first, 11:00.  I overshot it by block and went round block. Ladies took 2 hours there, it seemed, ok maybe an hour. We went to Goodwill next.  Leah bought fish at Mexican mkt and ate in car. I asked them to clean up their messes and not treat my car as a restaraunt. They never stopped eating in my car, just ate and ate junk food the entire time I drove.

At the Goodwill I found a size 20 French Blue suit with skirt and matching blazer, polyester, for 10.00 to wear to Lydia's wedding.

We went to Walmart next.  Then to E&S.  My car was getting heavy.  We found a garage sale and ladies bought books, added to weight of car.  (poor struts).

we went to Rosemary's overshot road CR 24 and checked back of business card where the directions to her house were.  Leah got us there and home again.

At Rosemary's Orpha did not show any artwork, but just talked. Leah did show a few pieces, but I can tell both women were uncomfortable talking about selves and accomplishments.  Orpha does cutting and is very good at that. Rosemary showed her a book with more ideas on that.  Leah showed Rose colored pencil cards that Sharon and Sarah did.  Rose asked me last what I was up to and I showed her the colored border calligraphy with gold ink part of it, and gave her a piece of it.  She wanted to see my Chinese Calligraphy. I didn't have any to show her today.

Storm.

It's father's day, it's raining storming and I have to get off computer soon.

Saturday, June 15, 2013

I have a headache, sunburn.  It's warm, not too hot, 73 degrees,  humid.  Storm to south of us. I was in Three Rivers today. I did a little girl's name in calligraphy and it didn't come out well. She took it but I could tell she didn't like it.  Someone asked me for 2 dragon flies. They wanted them touching. (on top of eachother?) I painted them separate.  She passed and kept her money. I feel bad. All this money I've invested in my booth and I've only made about 7.00 so far this year.  Need to paint better signs.  Need new "trick" for public. Maybe my calligraphy is bad because of pointed pen practice with light-table almost daily, when I do italic I'm stilted.  I need to overcome even this.

Paul was a loyal companion and good packer.

I got paid from PSI 35.00.  I spent 12.00 sending their footpedal back.  I'd like to transcribe for a company that had my trust and understanding.

Saturday, June 8, 2013

I worked for 2 days for PSI (Private Secretary Inc.) and quit.  They said I made stuff up.  I didn't appreciate that and I don't agree with them.

6/13-15 is the Waterfest in Three Rivers.  I have opportunity to vendor 7a-7p 3 days in a row.  I'd have to leave Paul at home.

I'd like to but I'm not sure if it is a good idea.  I'd have to leave my booth alone to go to the bathroom and leave my stuff unguarded.

I did work Waterfest, twittered a couple of pictures and googled a couple others. got sunburnt.  got discouraged.  didn't work that long:  from 10:30 to about 12:30,  but had to let the dogs out in Portage.

Monday TV

We usually watch Wendy Williams on Monday.  10:00 around time mail comes, at 10:30 or so.

Paul likes 2-1/2 men and he likes me to go to bed early so he can watch TV limitlessly.  I watch TV at 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. with ABC news.   I did that this morning, watched World News Now at 3-4 a.m.

Paul is changing channel from Maury to something probably retro, we watch a lot of retro TV like Beaver Cleaver, 1 Adam 12 and Dragnet, every day, Father's knows Best, etc.  Dennis the Menace.

We need to go somewhere and do something.  Maybe go to B&G in Schoolcraft and to the bank to deposit check.

Better mood - Paul.

Paul is in a much better mood today.  Grand Rapids is flooded out, 150,000 sand bags.  The city manager had the CSX train drive onto the bridge to keep it from washing away, cars were full of salt, amazing.

Jill, my sister, says it's not that bad in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but that it's only a disaster, not an emergency-emergency, she said.

I did not go up to Grand Rapids this weekend Saturday, Wayland US 131 was closed part of the morning Saturday morning past.

It will rain again this week.  Rivers will drop.  It will warm up 2 days and then get cold again. It was 37 degrees this morning and I could hear the bullfrogs in nearby ponds in our neighborhood.

Paul took trash out this a.m. already, all the babies and hubby have been fed.  Ocelot was acting crazy this morning.

Standard Chinese character, Tranquility

this is standard Chinese characters, clockwise peace (without square needed), eternal love, tranquility, and finally strong.  My name means strong peace in Latin, so that's what I signed my stuff with.
This is a spring poem in Chinese with orchid and butterfly that I did on rice paper.

Paul is making glue traps

Paul is making glue traps for bugs out of tape he has, they work well.  Gross as all get-out.

Paul wants to patent his traps (:}),  I want to patent my light-board.  Sarah H. gave her pens away to her cousin Sharon, I'm pretty sure, she needs to get them back and I'll give her new nibs and paper and ink.

Pastor preached on idols at church.  We're supposed to bring our idols in and get rid of them.  This should be interesting.  Maybe there will be TVs in the bunch.  In my camp, I think my 2 DVDs that I do about 2 x a week are close to being idols, but I can live without them.   Besides, it brings me closer to God to do hymns in Spencerian.

Paul just found a trove of bugs under fridge, yik.  We signed another lease here and next door neighbor is still here, Paul really hates him.  He drinks beer all day and stares at people's butts, basically, all the time.  He has brain damage.  He's supposed to be out next month, that's 10 days away.  We have been through this before, counting the days until he is gone, and he is still here.  Goldentree is a bad place, but cheap.

Skippy is digging at his ear.

Paul made 2 heavy wagons with nice axles, 1/2" and 5/8", the heavier one is made out of bed angle iron and exercise machine steel. It is almost too heavy.

This past week was the week of the Boston massacre with the 2 guys from Russia who the first got killed and the 2nd is in serious condition at hospital, facing death penalty for terrorism.  There was also a factory in Waco TX that blew up, fertilizer factory, and trashed 260 homes, they haven't uncovered the reason for that.

Proof of Heaven week

Had fun showing Spencerian penmanship to Amish kids in one room schoolhouse last week Friday.  Paul is depressed today.  He did not go to church with me.  It is cold out but sunny.  I returned 2 books I borrowed from library for Leah and Toby:  Beyond Death's Door by Maurice Rawlings MD and "Proof of Heaven".  I did not read the 2nd book, it made not mention of Jesus.  Beyond is written by Christian, Proof is written by a sincere neurologist who doesn't have faith in Christ (yet).

Paul is munching on Tortilla chips and jalepeno cheese, I think he is cheering up somewhat.  Tomorrow is supposed to go up to 60 degrees.  Paul is bummed out about losing his drivers license due to mild cataracts that are too mild to be surgical at this point, and he is bummed about a lot of things.  He did not go to church with me today.  We did go to the flea market together yesterday and to Toby's.  Paul and Dale talked for about 10-15 minutes about engines and stuff.  Dale was the vendor next to me last weekend.

Paul and I test-drove a Buick Lacrosse 07 about 2 weeks ago, did the credit thing at the dealership and at the C.U. and got turned down.  They made me offer at dealership 255 month, but would not give me interest or time period.  Sure 255 a month for 7 years, righto, I told them to keep their so called offer.

I had made 200 business cards 2 weeks ago of Spencerian painting for 25.00, not bad.  I got JPEGs of my artwork a few days ago from Office Max, a few dollars, maybe 2.00, of the penmanship paintings Arise and others.  I did of my Chinese paintings also a week ago at Office Max, which is the only place I'll go cuz Office Depot will only give me PDFs not JPEGs.

I returned those 2 books to Library, no fine.

I did "Arise my Soul Arise" , as pictured above, one week ago in pointed pen Spencerian penmanship with Oblique holder and Nikko-G nib.  I talked to Michael as I did it and did not make mistake, but didn't quite add Charles Wesley's name as author.  It is in brown ink which I made according to Michael Sull's recipe of 10 parts vermillion sumi ink to one part (or a little bit) of black Higgins Eternal ink.  I really like the brown ink. But I have to do color copies of it.  I did it on Amish paper, I did not paint the flowers, the Miller girls did.  I did paint the bird flourish in brown ink.

Ouch finger owie.

I have to get to bed.  My finger tore open while opening several tubes of paint (oil) yesterday.

Today Paul and I laminated 60 memory cards for Leah and Toby H.

350

I have over 350 pieces of laminated placemats to display and sell of pointed pen work, a labor of intense love for the Spencerian hand as well as hymns, prayers, psalms, birds flourished, etc.  Paul and I also laminated 60 memory cards for Leah.

Of those 350 placemats, probably 50 are color.

Chinese Calligraphy Class

I started my Chinese/Japanese Calligraphy class at the KIA this week, was good but it did kick my butt.  Hey I am soooo glad I took my pointed pen satchel to KIA w me with bottled ink, we used bottled, not stick ink.  I was afraid she would make us grind ink for 1/2 the class.  She showed us 2 videos about Chinese language and characters, she taught us how to hold up the brush, she (Yin) had us go around and tell  why we took the class and what we planned on getting out of it. She, the teacher teaches at K-College, WMU and KIA.  She majored in calligraphy at University and went to Japan for a couple of years also.

The supplies are cheap.  Paper is 6.00 and brush is 5.00, I have ink already. We are supposed to pick one or two characters and then make composition with them.  We can add little paintings on them if we like.  I like.

Sarah was using her pen and ink kit I left her when I went down to T&L in Mendon last Thursday.  Today is Sunday.  I went to Denny's with Paul instead of church.  It was freezing rain outside.
