Middlebury IND

Hello again.  Am going to Middlebury today, Lord willing, to see Rose Schmucker's art class, taking Leah and Veronica and Laura and baby.   Going to Wilma's this afternoon.

Am at Library right now.  Jill had a heart attack and is okay.  She had a stent put in and she will have another stent put in next week.  I talked to her yesterday, she is in good spirits, it seems.

I had a good time at class yesterday.   2 new students, Muriel and Mary, that Nancy brought.  Mary was very happy and although she didn't do a perfect scalloped leaf, she was quite pleased.  Muriel was kind of frustrated.  Nancy has been to 3 classes of mine and was independent and progressive.  Muriel watched Nancy and "got it".  It helped that Nancy was right across from Muriel whereas I was next to her.

Pretty soon Muriel was pleased enough with her leaves to hold them up and show the crochet group in the same room and said "See what I did today, it's fun, it's easy, why don't you come next week and learn to do one-stroke painting?"!!!

About 5 more weeks and I'll be heading for surgery to get my knee (right) replaced, on May 4th.

I got the run-around with my prescription part D approval.  Soc Secy told me to go to DHS, and DHS told me to go to Soc Secy, who told me to go to Meridian, who said there was a "glitch" in their system and they were sorry.   Okay, 2-3 weeks later I pick up my Rx.  But not before I wrote a letter to DHS with cc to senator, congressman and President!  I only sent a copy out to President.   It will be okay.  If they call about it I'll tell them it's resolved.

Lansing called me yesterday about my issues with DHS.

2:00 in Library

Have job at 2:30, then 3:30 P.M. TODAY.  Picked up person at 7:30 a.m. in Burr Oak, took to Colon to DDS to have toofy filled, took her to her moms.

Had a call yesterday for a fare tomorrow, had to turn down cuz we are doing taxes 9:45 a.m. and then I have to pick up someone 2:30, not sure I'll be available at 12:30 p.m.  Just too much.

My bro, Mark, bought a 2nd motorcycle, Harley, he is soooo happy.  I am glad he is happy, but I don't really want to see him ride again.  I understand though.  Live to ride.

2:10, I have to be at a farm nearby at 2:30 p.m.

Yesterday someone (jerk!) stole my sign off my van.  Needed my phone number?  Used to decorate dorm room?  I don't know.  Was stolen 3:30 in Colon, MI.

Monday had good class.  2 more classes I think, maybe 3, until April 17th when I get my labs taken, then May 4th when I get my knee replaced.

Coming right up here.

Paul had some weakness today, he lay down a bit on his chair.

We are running the woodstove again, it helps heat the house.

Tuesday in April.

I am driving an Amish gal home from her mom's every day for 2 weeks.  She has a dental appt. today in Colon, so I'll add that to my fare.

Uber called me last night and I hung up on them.  I drive daughters and wives of friends, not strangers.

2:30 I go pick her up. She is working in a greenhouse.

Paul got the woodstove going again, praise the LORD!  It took him a while.  I laid hands on the cold woodstove last night this morning early and prayed for it and Paul, un-beknownst to Paul.  It's going good now.

Class went good yesterday.  I had only one student.  She is doing well, N.R.   We have 3 more classes, then I have bone and joint "camp" which is where they take my labs, etc., and Jill my sister is going with me to that.

On the 28th I go back up to the eye doctor as follow up for my shingles bout last year that nearly took my right eye.  I am seeing fine.  A little tight or dry once in a while (we have a dry house), but my eye is good.

My counseling appt. went well today.  It is snowy out, but the birds are singing.

At least we are not getting 1 foot of snow like NY and Boston.  Even DC is getting more snow that SW Michigan.

I found out the Mendon Farm Market on Thursdays in summer has 5.00 tables, and I want to participate, every week if possible.  that is cheap table rent.

Skippy is still very skinny.  I don't know if we can save him. He is skin and bones and it would cost $200.00 to diagnose him.  Paul thinks it's cancer. He got wormed last December 2016.

A couple of women I know want me to teach them finger picking on the guitar.

Paul and I used the food pantry nearby last Thursday.  Yuck.

We have lots of pasta and oatmeal and rice.

Well, over the next 2 weeks I'll earn about 70.00.

I bought life insurance, 9.00/month for 2,000.00 benefit for Paul in case I croak on the OR table.

Thursday after big storm

Big storm 2 nights ago.  Lost sleep a bit, rumbled thru the night.  O.H. got his barn roof blown off, no loss of life for people. Houses okay.  Consumers Power was seen with guy actually wading into water to place a pole or for some reason, with all their blue trucks and flashing lights.  On Truckenmiller road and Bucknell, I believe, or Rambadt. at 2:30 p.m. saw the CP guy doing that.

My relatives are okay after storm.

I did some driving yesterday morning and evening.  Will be driving Friday up to Kalamazoo.
