It's 1:30 a.m. and the dogs are barking at me to go out.  Skippy is.

I am going to Post Univ. now in Waterbury Conn online.  Heard from an old old friend the other day, mssg on FB that if I wanted a certain book to teach Paul to read she'd send it. Hmmm.  I offered to send her 10.00 for it.

Problem is, I don't think I can get Paul to listen for long.  Maybe if I pay him money in increments he'll listen to being taught.  But if he's truly dyslexic, how can he learn?

Whoopee Goldberg is dyslexic. So is George Lopez' son Max.

Some bipolar guy stole 3 buses (in succession), and drove it to Detroit, they said he had "psychosis".

I say change his diagnosis to schizophrenia.  I think the kid was 14 or so.

The law will have to set a precedent to make these kids take their meds or else.

Or else incarceration, I guess.

Still haven't heard from George, my brother, in a while.  

Bins

I'm fighting my profile on LinkedIn because it says i have a degree in art which I do not.

P. and I went to Schoolcraft this a.m.  I put in an application at a fast food restaurant.  I don't know if I can stand for long periods of time due to bad knee, so may not be a good idea to pursue, but they didn't call me anyway.
P. bought an angle and I bought a bin at B&G Discount.  I'm using my bin to put placemats in at craft fairs for people to riff through and look.

Bushnell

Paul just came home with a scope he found in the dumpster, about 3 foot long.  It's pretty unwieldy.  I haven't looked through it yet, it's a Bushnell 430.  Probably some window peeper ditched it.  Hezzy keeps trying to get at my sweet potatoes.  You can probably look at the stars with the scope. Paul is still messing with it.

I bought a ratchet for Paul on Thanksgiving day with my birthday money, 20.00 of it.

It's like having a whole toolbox in one tool.

Skippy is watching me closely to see if I'm okay with this scope.  He's very alert and wants to bark, but doesn't cuz we told him not to.  His button ears are halfway up.

Ron was walking around with the "Meijers boy", and now Ron is looking in people's cars now.

I treated the cats to a little canned food Thanksgiving week.  Hezzy was jumpy around Ron.

I bought a few acrylic tubes of paint this a.m. along with 50 thermal pouches.  Plan to Monday go to Cartridge world or Office Depot and make copies of my finished penwork and then laminate them.  Paul may make fish tonight on the panini grill.  Oops, refrig is avalanched, too many leftovers. God bless leftovers.  How many times do I age them then toss them?  Oh well.

Paul and I went to the Sal Army store yesterday a.m. then home, then to B&G, then to Wendy's in Schoolcraft.  Got home 4:00 ish, Leah called, asked me down for birthday dinner of pizza, ice cream.  I had already said I was going to come down, so we did.  I drove home 8:00 ish and was really tired.  Woke up early this a.m.and went to Julianna's for breakfast, got free breakfast.  (didn't expect it), from waitress.  I gave her a flourished bird placemat.

Paul's talking to himself as he works at the stove.  He always talks to himself.  I hear him in next room having conversations with his own self, at first it was wierd, but I'm used to it now.  I'm also pretty used to him talking to me during the news and can tune out about 50% of it and listen to news and pay attn to Paul about 30% of time or so.  (that leaves 20% where I don't know what I'm hearing, too much noise).

Paul is making ham sandwiches, not fish.  That's okay.  I had some of yesterday's sweet potatoes.

Just listened to Sugarland "it happens".  Somebody just called looking for Gail Fox trying to sell us a fruit basket.  We've got a few nuts here, but no fruit.  A nut next door.

On being self- taught

Rosemary has probably an 8th grade education like most old order Amish women, then she educated herself using library books and taking notes.  She took 2 classes on painting, and one on calligraphy.  She teaches well and makes things simple. I'd like to go back and talk to her some more. I would like to bring Sharon and Leah and Sarah with me.  My car is getting older.  I would like to get AAA road assist membership.

Rosemary's house in Middlebury

Leah, Sarah, Sharon (2nd cousin to Sarah) and I all went to Middlebury to meet and visit with Rosemary Schmucker, a successful painting in acrylics artist, whom we met at the Shipshe craft fair in October this year.

Sharon did not know what to expect. I told her to get her drawings, a book of them, and she did,  to bring along. She did not know this lady would be Old Order Amish.  The girls learned about color theory at Rosemary's elbow as we sat at the table in her garrett with the north light, and Rosemary shared with us how to shade without using black.

I want to visit again and have a gift for Rosemary.

Well, I dd not do any pen-work for a week, mainly because I felt really bad about G.S. my brother.  He quit talking to me on facebook after I said I wanted to go to Orlando and meet for the first time my brother whom I've been separated since birth from.  He may never get over it and not contact me again.  Meanwhile his "mother" P.M. contacted me about coming to FL in Dec.  How She was in depression from loss of grandson who died.

'She could not substitute teach.

I can relate.

God has not promised skies always blue

I did a couple of pieces of pointed pen work for Alice and Barb at church and gave them to them today. 

It takes me at least 45 minutes to do a piece the length that I did. 

I am praying about meeting my brother G.S. face to face for first time, we were separated from birth, he was raised by cousins and so was I, I was adopted, he could not be because he was waiting around for his mother to take responsibility which she never could or did. 

I sent G. a family portrait from 1840's which I told him about people in our family, what I knew. 

I really hope I can save up for a trip to FL this year and G.S. can too.  And Meg can host us.  That she'll be over her back surgery and on the mend. 

Voting day

Paul is out for a while.  Ron just slammed his door.  Paul talks about Ron constantly.  I think I need 3 days in Orlando.  today was voting day.  I voted for Mitt Romney.  I'd like to work if I could.  Maybe even 30 hours a week.  Ron just had his skinny friend, Clarence over.  Paul and i went to Subway in T.R. this noon, I spent 10.00 on 2 subs, chips and 1 pop.  Eating out is expensive.  We get our food stamps tomorrow.  THere was a job with HCMW for a scribe which I need to check out. I have a cold.  I am taking Alka Seltzer Plus cold medicine for it, it only lasts 4 hours, but it helps some. 

I think Blue the cat sneezed on me and made me sick. 

I sent George a few messages about our family. 

spilled pop

Paul spilled my pop on the computer and almost broke it.  Hezzy was on my foot (female dog) and Paul kicked her because I complained she was in the way, which sent my pop flying, so of course I hit Paul on the arm twice and told him "that's 250.00" if it breaks. 

Aside from that, we've been getting along ok.  Paul didn't go to church cuz I told people he cannot read.

That's his reason anyway.  Alice S. was ecstatic about having the K. family on front of a college (Christian) magazine, 4 generations of women, all who got engaged on campus, how sweet. 

I did the craft fair.  I hope it was not a total waste.  I traded 4 greeting cards from a photographer for my 4 greeting cards of flourished birds. 

I heard from Pat M. who is George S's. mother who raised him.  It was good to hear from her, her email was buried under a bunch of email. 

Menards and penholder

I did not manage to make my booth more vertical.  I watched another vendor get a large stroke of luck or a blessing as someone loaned her a rack for her purses she was selling. 

The vendor next to me was very nice.  I got a massage for 1.00, about 3-4 minutes, really did the trick, felt so relaxed, she was doing it for tips at the craft fair I was at.  I was next to a reflexology expert and also a shake selling person who had lost 22 lbs drinking shakes every day with regular eating, but she ate less because she wanted less, her name was Dawn.  She was real nice to me, gave me a bottle of water and several napkins which I needed.  I broke out my paints to do names and meanings, which one little girl really appreciated. 

I received enough ink for probably a year in the past 2 or 3 weeks.  I have a bottle of Higgins Eternal, 2 bottles of Yasytini (2 oz) and a small sample bottle of Moon palace Sumi ink.  I did order a luandry marker for dark paper, 1 Hunt  oblique penholder, one pad of paper, gridded for Copperplate and Spencerian which I do (Spencerian), and the coveted Blackwell oblique penholder which is 38.00, hand-made.  but backordered. 

Paul my hubby backordered an item from Menards last night, a pressure guauge for an air compressor, 20.00.  They will call us in 10 days whent they get it.  He's been looking for a pressure valve guide for a long time and finally found it.  I found plexiglass there at Menards for 9.98 for 5/8th inch 18 x 24" plexiglass which I use for a light table, which I make with surrounding tape to block out ambient light to my eyes. 

I tape out an area around the 8.5 x 11" area that I usually light up to show lines.  If I need a bigger board, I have them.  I have 4 light boards and one masonite padded flourishing board, all hand-made by me. 
I'd like to sell made up ones someday, but I'm kind of lazy at my age, 55 almost 56 in 2 weeks, and I like to do art, not really make hardware stuff.  Still I would make light boards if people (Pendragons?) wanted them.

I also spray paint mats on my work using paper stemcils cut from newspaper. 

Birthday present for me from me

I back-ordered a new Blackwell oblique penholder from JNB John Neal Bookseller in NC, for my birthday.  It's 38.00 and handmade.  The guy who hand makes them is out with surgery.  I could order several Hunt oblique penholders for the price of one Blackwell, but I want a good one.

I finished a craft fair today in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  I have another one coming up in GR, MI in December. 

Out of the market

Today I pulled out of the L. flea mkt., this morning, 28th of October, Sunday.  Yesterday Tom made a total ass of his self by fighting with an employee of his.  THe guy, Mike, came in from the outside with his brother and his brother's wife or girlfriend, then Mike, the guy who was selling for Tom at the Gun and knife show, came up to Tom and they started to fight verbally.  This went on for an hour or more.  At one point, Tom told Mike to "get the Fk..outta here" and take the gun they were fighting over, and Tom wasn't going to pay him anything more.  Then Dee went on break, Tom's assistant.  After Dee left, Mike came back and talked to Tom about being his friend etc. and Tom said he would give him, Mike, money, 150.00 and more later.  It really unnerved me.

Roland and Melissa came by around 3:45 P and asked me how I was, I said not so swell.  Roland said he tried to "get into it" with Tom and his entourage before, and Roland got shamed and told to call the police if he did not like it. 

So...I made a statement to the Police in Three Rivers this a.m.  I wrote out a statement on notebook paper and the policeman listened to me talk and then copied the journal entry.  I went to the flea market and cleared my stuff out and told Steve I wasn't mad at hIM but I didn't want to see Tom today. 

Also, Dee wasn't talking to me yesterday.  Tom had told Dee not to sell for him about 10:00 am and then at 3:30 P when Tom left for the day he said Dee could sell and collect for him. 

I'm glad I'm not around to watch the dynamics of that whole bunch.  Paul says there's a lot of crums down there. 

Blackwell oblique pen

I plan to get a Blackwell Oblique pen for birthday or Christmas.  The maker of them is having surgery so I will have to backorder, they tell me at John Neal Bookseller in NC, who supplies my points and ink, etc. 

I need to get one of those laundry marking pens so I can draw lines on dark paper.  They have those.

I have a craft fair on Saturday, I really need to make my booth more vertical by propping up my portfolios. 

I have more placemats.  I may go out and buy more greeting cards as I have plenty of plastic pouches for them that Meg sent me.  I have a good-size inventory. 

Sold a painting yesterday for 50.00 and sent the original out, it is called "Desert Mountains" and it is blue, mostly, and it is done in pastel.

I sent it via US Post Office for 3.00 insured for $50.00 and marked fragile, do not bend.
